Dear He Who Will Always Wait For Me,
One question. Two people. Six words:
Will you get lost with me?
After all I've learnt,
And after all I've lost
After all you know
And that which you don't,
Will you run free with me
Racing through a field of tulips
On a windy Wednesday afternoon?
We could go to places
Where we could sing till past midnight
And the air tasted sweeter
Than champagne in the countryside
We could go to places
Where drunken promises and genuine smiles
Are actually allowed
Where tears of despair and expressions of anger
Aren't dismissed as mental problems
And where broken trust and writhing hearts
Are given time and space and comfort.
After all you've seen
And after all you've felt
After all I know
And that which I don't,
Will you ride black stallions with me
Across a field of lavender
On a rainy Sunday morning?
Will you get lost with me?
